Carriers’ equipment costs are set for a strong rise

March 17, 2011

After dropping 2 of the last 3 years, carriers equipment costs rose nearly 10% during 2010. They are set to rise even stronger in 2011 (+20%) as fleets begin the process of replacing aging equipment with more expensive new trucks. Growth will slow down as we move into 2012/13, but remain at a strong level as the freight environment stays solid and the replacement cycle continues.
