Job claims flat for the week
August 30, 2012
First-time claims for for unemployment insurance were unchanged during the week ended Aug. 25 at a seasonally adjusted 374,000. The four-week moving average was 370,250, an increase of 1,500 from the previous week’s revised average. Over the past five weeks job claims have totaled between 364,000 and 374,000 — a far cry from the wild swings experienced in June and July.
