Job claims fall sharply

After a week of relative stability, first-time claims for unemployment insurance fell by 27,000 during the week ended Feb. 9 to a seasonally adjusted 341,000, according to advance estimates from the U.S. Departemnet of Labor. The four-week moving average was 352,500, an increase of 1,500 from the previous week’s revised average.
